Sick Pets

Cat and Dog Snuggling
Despite the best preventive care, our pets become ill. They are subject to many diseases including: diabetes, cancer, thyroid disease, kidney dysfunction and heart disease. Early detection is key to restoring good health to your pet and we have access to a wide array of diagnostics to help us diagnose and treat illness.

Emergencies

Emergencies can occur at any time, day or night and recognizing when your pet is in need of emergency care isn't always easy. If you think your pet's life is in danger contact us immediately for help.

What If It's Not An Emergency?

If your pet's condition is not life-threatening, but you feel they need to be seen before our next available appointment time, we also offer urgent care. Our caring, efficient staff will squeeze you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, we can usually give you an estimate for how long you may have to wait to be seen.

We offer these services:

Diagnostics
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  At Dog and Cat Repair, we have the latest equipment to helps us stay proactive when it comes to your pet’s medical needs. We can quickly run any necessary tests with our on-site diagnostic laboratory and digital X-ray imaging so both the vet and you get the answers you need as soon as possible.

Allergies and Dermatology

Dermatological issues and allergens can negatively impact your pet’s quality of life. Swelling, scratching, discomfort, sores and more can all lead to bigger issues, such as infection or further injury to the body. Our team at Dog and Cat Repair, can determine exactly what’s causing your pet’s skin reactions and develop a treatment strategy that will get results.

Foreign Bodies in Pets
Dogs and cats maintain no more than a toddler’s level of sense for their entire lives. Certainly some have a stronger tendency to swallow foreign objects, but all have the potential. Monitor your pet’s habits. Especially with puppies and kittens, keep small swallowable items picked up and out of their way. Discuss with your veterinarian appropriately sized chew toys, considering ALL the pets in your home.

General Surgery
Our surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures, as spays, neuters, mass removals and wound repairs, including laser and Ellman electrosurgical surgery.

Nutrition and Diet
Like humans, diet and nutrition is the foundation of your pet’s good health and longevity. At Dog and Cat Repair, our veterinarians will help you formulate the best nutrition and diet plan for your pet based on his or her age, general health and lifestyle.

Dental Care
Periodontal disease is the most common condition in dogs and cats and it is entirely preventable! As bacteria spend time on the teeth, they develop into plaque and harden into tartar. The bacteria make their way under the gumline causing inflammation of the gums (gingivitis), infection, and bone loss. We identify these abnormalities by probing pockets around teeth, through dental x-rays, and by feeling if the teeth are mobile. All this is performed while your pet is under anesthesia for a dental cleaning.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been used in Eastern cultures for over 5,000 years. The practice focuses on promoting healing and restoring the energy balance in the body for both physiological and psychological benefits. It can be used as a form of preventive medicine or as an ongoing treatment to manage chronic conditions.

PulseVet Shock Wave Therapy
PulseVet Shockwave Therapy is a high-energy acoustic wave therapy for pets that promotes healing, reduces inflammation, and helps restore mobility. This treatment sends targeted sound waves into injured or damaged tissue to increase circulation, reduce pain signals, and encourage cell regeneration. It is a scientifically supported, noninvasive shockwave treatment for pets that allows many animals to heal more efficiently and comfortably.

Cold Laser Therapy
If you’ve heard about Cold Laser Therapy and are wondering if it could benefit your pet, you’re in the right place. Cold Laser Therapy, also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy, is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to treat a variety of conditions in pets. While it sounds high-tech, it’s actually a safe and comfortable option that can provide significant health benefits for your furry friend.

Pet Ultrasound
We offer veterinary ultrasounds for pets. Much like ultrasound for people, pet ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive imaging technique used to diagnose sick and injured animals.

Quality of Life
Losing a pet is not something anyone wants to go through, but it is a part of the life you share together. We've dealt with it too. Here at Dog and Cat Repair, we want to be there with you during and after your pet’s time elapses and help you say the goodbye you both desire.

Referrals
There are cases in which our evaluation results in the need for referral to a veterinary specialist. Our network of veterinary specialists includes dermatologists, oncologists, neurologists, ultrasonographers, ophthalmologists, orthopedic/soft tissue surgeons, behaviorists and more. We have developed relationships with many specialists in order to provide quality care for your pet.
